Two Page Spread 2

This is the second part of the two page spread. The layout of the page is rather different to the previous one, as there is a divide in the first third, again there is many images, with the use of less text. there is also big mast heads for each of the articles. but both with different styles to enhance the two different subjects. the colour scheme within the two pages is very repetitive again allowing you to know that the two pages are both "gossip" pages, also the first page suses more yellow than purple, in comparsion to this page, which is unusual as yellow is more of a unisex colour and then the purple is used around the males.

Two Page Spread 1

The first of the two page spread is very similar to the front cover with the use of bright colours and minimum text. The use of the bold pink modern text with the pink sparkles enhance their celebrity meaning e.g. the sparkles represent the glamour of the Pussycat Dolls. the page is overrun by images, this makes the text less important imposes the suggestion that you don't have to read it. the structure of the layout is informal ans the pictures are scattered which as a connotation of busyness which would relate to their famous status. The use if speech text boxes is a good idea as it will reduce their perfectness because they are typical "perfect" to the girl audience: although they don't fit into a demographic (socio economic classifications). The typography is legible and very simple, most probably Sans serif- which shows more informality but also contemporary. as i said this page is very similar to the front cover, very busy and the use of big and bold images, this is typical of the pop genre as it simply- big bright and eye catching. Although their is a lot of images there is also "snippets" of information which help the page look more busy. the use of the STRAP LINE across the top of the two pages helps show the relevance between both pages as they both have different articles on them, but are relevant to each other- both "gossip issues".

Top Of The Pops Front Cover.

I will be analysing the "Top of the pops" magazine, as the magazine that I will be creating will be in the genre of pop.
The page is very busy and because pop music itself is bold, colourful (colour attracts attention) and that links to the style and layout of this front cover: bold and big main flash across the middle of the page- striking and easy to relate to the main picture. The main sells around the page also help to create a busy effect and to enlighten you as to how many celebrities they have interviewed or even just taken pictures of. The main picture is the Jonas Brothers and they are smiling and are presented very neat, almost to suggest that they are clean and suitable for teenagers to have a liking for them. There are not many colour associations apart from perhaps the use of the background being blue and quite a few of the text boxes being pink. The use of pink and the Jonas brothers as they are seen as the "cool celebrities” at the moment and also the use of hearts could back this- love for them as actors. The text has a very Strong legibility as it is simple and mostly bold and also in text boxes. The editors have made no attempt to stop part of the picture covering the masthead this could suggest that they are brand confident as they feel that enough people know the magazine well enough to know what it is without seeing the whole of the masthead. The font of the writing is modern and large also it is sans serif which makes it readable. The target audience is really likely to be teenage girls up to about the oldest 16, also it is mainly relevant to the breadwinner in the household so the socio-economic classifications does not apply to this magazine. I think the psychographic audience is mainly main streamers as the other categories don't really applt to top of the pops. The antionality is only Enagland as there is no indication at to other countries and on the barcode there is only the price in pounds £. The language is humorous, informal and very teenage like e.g. "OMG!" to abbreviate because it wouldn't be as modern if you put in full " Oh my god!", there is also alot of punctuation to enhance excitement. The image of The Jonas Brothers, suggests that they are a good family and that not all families today are broken as that may be the view of a lot of teenagers. there is a good contrast between The Jonas Brothers and Chris Brown and Zac Effron, the brothers have heavy clothing on, they are all wearing dark colours and not alot of skin showing in contrast to Chris Brown is wearing minimum clothing with none actually on show, and Zac Effron has a tight vest shirt on with his arms obviously tensed.
